Ross Point Development

1948 Land purchased and first service on July 4th.
1953 Vic and Clara Johnson served as camp managers
1973 Rev. R. Paul Ledbetter ~ Became Board Manager and later camp Director
1974 Fuel oil stoves replaced with electric heaters
1977 The Ball field widened and sprinkler system installed
1978 Mini-golf course completed with 18 holes of play
1989 Low Element Challenge course completed for outdoor education
1991 Dinner Theatre and campfire circle added to Ross Point Camp offerings
1992 Basketball backboards replaced with heavy duty support
1995 Capital campaign launched to build a chapel, gym, and office addition
1995 Permanent sunbathing dock and diving board rebuilt
1996 Major remodeling of the dining room with cathedral ceiling
1996 Motel-style lodge project launched
1997 “Break out” rooms remodeled from old chapel and prior dining hall
1998 Riverside Lodge finished with array of amenities
2001 John Batchelder joined staff as Executive Director
2001 Lower meeting room enlarged (Osprey), creation of Board Room (Sunrise)
2001 84′ Bouldering Wall added to play area
2002 Sprinkler system installed for Lodge and Dining Room area
2002-3 Metal roofs on buildings and most cabins
2003 Gate House converted to office for ABCNW, Hill House renovated
2003 High Ropes Course constructed overlooking Lagoon
2004 Climbing Tower built behind Manley, 3 sides, 38′ high, 6 routes
2004 Edgewater and Shoreline, staff/retreat cabins
2004 New furnaces with air conditioning for main buildings
2006 Gym Acoustic panels added
2006 Moore renovated for two bathrooms
2006 Mohr Dining Room Wall replaced
2007 Dining Room Deck added
2008 Auxiliary A/C added to Chapel and Dining Room
2008 Eight acres rezoned for 17 lot sub-division
2008 New Pier for Swim Area
2009 Gate House Windows and Siding
