Spring 2026 Retreat: “Rooted and Rising”
March 20th @ 7 PM – March 22th @ 2 PM
Colossians 2:6-7 says, “Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” (ESV)
Rooted & Rising is an invitation to step away from the noise of everyday life and root your heart deeply in Christ. As we take time to be rooted in His presence and grounded in His truth, we will discover how God grows us upward into the life He designed. This retreat is a space to strengthen your faith, deepen your relationship with the Father, and learn how a rooted life in Jesus leads to lasting growth, purpose, and transformation.
The cost of the retreat is $90. If you are unable to cover the cost you may apply for a scholarship during registration.
Meet Your Directors
Director: Mikel Nisse
Hey everyone, my name is Mikel, and I’ve counseled, led games, and even directed at Camp for over 10 years. Though I’ve been gone traveling the world and switching careers. I’m super excited to come back and put together this spring retreat! I’m the former youth pastor of Palouse Federated Church, A Young Life leader of 15 years, and an I.T. Systems administrator for the University of Idaho. Camp is a special place to me, I gave my life to Christ one night after campfire in the Back-right, upper bunk of Haiti Cabin. Some of my closest friends in the world come to camp, it’s where I gained a passion for leading Young people to learn about Jesus Christ and make a decision about him. I look forward to seeing you all at Spring Retreat 2026 for good friends, good food good games, and The most amazing experience of all in intentionally being in the presence of our savior! Nehemiah 8:10
Director: Mark Sawyer
Hello everyone, my name is Mark Sawyer, Husband, Father of 3, and a Farmer and teacher. I teach Forestry, Woodshop, and a lot of hands on types of classes. I used to teach robotics as well. My work keeps me busy, in fact, so busy that I didn’t even write this! My wonderful friend and co-director Mikel wrote this for me! Isn’t he just the greatest? I have been involved in some kind of Youth ministry since I graduated college. I love Skiing and snowboarding, long road trips, and Interpretive dance!
I look forward to meeting all of you, if you want to really know me, please come talk with me when I’m at camp with you all.
Speaker: Kalani Watkins
Born and raised in Southern California, Kalani earned two degrees from the University of Idaho in Psychology and Recreation Management. She now resides on the Palouse and serves on staff at Real Life on the Palouse as the Youth Pastor for the middle school and high school ministry.
Youth ministry played a significant role in Kalani’s own faith journey growing up, and she understands just how life-changing camps can be for students. She is excited for the opportunity to be part of the good work God is doing at Ross Point this March!
