Summer Program Staff – Summary

Summer Programming Staff members are responsible for the activities and fun-filled experiences guests have at Ross Point. They also oversee the well-being of student campers who attend during the weeks of Ross Point-hosted summer camp sessions—providing servant leadership, applying teamwork, and building authentic relationships so each camper and guest can experience an unforgettable time and walk away changed. Doing so through Ross Point’s mission of glorifying God by offering a haven for engaging, encouraging, and equipping through Christ-centered hospitality.”

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Leadership: Lead campers and assist other summer staff in safety, culture, efficiency, and spiritual growth. Every position has an area of ownership they are directly responsible for, but may be asked to lead and serve in other areas of camp as needed.
  • Spiritual Mentorship: Mentor campers, answer questions about Christianity, and conduct themselves in a way consistent with the Ross Points Camps Values and Statements of Faith.
  • Recreation and Program: Assist in recreation and program areas as needed, including games, skits, songs, ropes courses, climbing walls, archery, waterfront, lifeguarding, and other general activities.
  • Guest Service: Assist with hosting guest groups, meal preparation and serving, housekeeping, and other guest service needs throughout the week.

Position Details 

  • Time: Seasonal contract, May – September (3-week minimum requirement)
  • Salary:  Paid $450 – $500 per week (DOE)

Lifeguard

Ross Point Camp is looking for lifeguards to join our Summer 2026 team! Lifeguards play an important role in creating a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for campers and guests at the waterfront. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, serving others, and being part of a Christ-centered camp community.

Position Details

  • Position: Lifeguard
  • Season: Summer 2026
  • Pay: $19–$21 per hour
  • Minimum Age: 16 years old

Responsibilities

  • Supervise campers and guests at the waterfront
  • Enforce waterfront safety rules and procedures
  • Respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations
  • Assist with waterfront activities and daily operations
  • Help maintain a clean and safe waterfront area
  • Work closely with camp staff to provide a positive camp experience

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Must already have a lifeguard certification with waterfront endorsement OR be willing to obtain certification by June 2026
  • Ability to work well with campers, staff, and guests
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in summer conditions
  • Must be a strong swimmer

Part Time Evening Lead Cook

Ross Point Camp & Conference Center is looking for a Part-Time Evening Lead Cook to join our kitchen team. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys cooking, serving others, and working in a camp and retreat environment.

The Evening Lead Cook will help prepare and serve meals for campers, retreat guests, staff, and groups staying at Ross Point. This role requires someone who can work well in a fast-paced kitchen, lead with a positive attitude, and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming food service environment.

Position Details

Position: Part-Time Evening Lead Cook
Schedule: Evenings, 4 days per week
Pay Range: $17–$22 per hour, depending on experience
Location: Ross Point Camp & Conference Center, Post Falls, ID

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook evening meals for groups of varying sizes
  • Help lead the kitchen during evening meal service
  • Follow menus, recipes, and food safety guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace
  • Assist with dishes, cleanup, and proper food storage
  • Work alongside kitchen staff and volunteers in a positive and respectful way
  • Understand and adapt to the unique pace and needs of a camp kitchen environment

Qualifications

  • Cooking experience required
  • Experience in a camp, retreat center, school, restaurant, or large-group kitchen preferred
  • Ability to work evenings, 4 days a week
  • Comfortable working in a team environment
  • Able to follow food safety procedures and kitchen standards
  • Dependable, organized, and willing to serve guests with care and excellence
